From the first moment I sat down with Cathy at a Starbucks to talk about her wedding, I knew I liked her. She is one if those lovely open people who makes you feel like you have known her for years. And listening to her tell me about Adam and fill me in on their story, I had the sense right away of the genuine love and respect they had for one another. Here was a real love story… and there is nothing we like better than telling real love stories through our images!
Cathy and Adam got married at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, which was a first for us, and was such a fabulous venue for this couple whose group of friends are so full of life and energy! Their reception entrance, was so much fun and and took inspiration from an NBA basketball game, fabulous right? Their ceremony took place in the Perot Theater and they danced the night away next with a dinosaur looking on. The brides father had just had a major heart surgery the week before the wedding, so emotions were close to the surface, and gratitude overflowed that he was able to walk his daughter down the aisle… and everyone there felt the love. Both families were just so wonderful and we hope these images capture just a portion of the love, romance and excitement going on at the Perot that day.

Rachel and Ben tied the knot in a lovely June ceremony at Marie Gabrielle in downtown Dallas under a beautiful canopy of trees. Every detail was the epitome of style and down-to-earth prettiness… words aren’t really sufficient. Rachel was certainly one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever seen and Ben made such a handsome groom. Surrounded by family and friends it was more than evident that as the adorable card on each chair said, “true love is a big deal.” This couple met at Texas Tech and it wasn’t long before Ben knew that Rachel was the one for him. They are so sweet and easy together and it’s a joy to watch, and if anyone near them might have lost hope in true love… odds are they will make you believe again. The group dressed for the big day at the Stoneleigh Hotel, a gorgeous 1923 Art Deco building which was the perfect backdrop for the photos of one of my favorite parts of the day. I have to say that I have shot quite a few wedding dresses, but this dress shot is my favorite one to date.
There is something very ceremonial about the putting on of the wedding dress… and something so nurturing about the way women come together to care for one another at these times…
The gray bridesmaid dresses that Rachel chose from BHLDN are so ethereal, and perfectly complement her Vera Wang dress that she had altered to her specifications.
